North Wales Communists joined with Wrexham Anti-Fascists to campaign against bigotry in Wrexham.

The far-right marched through the city under the banner of “Wrexham Unite” to be met by a coalition of anti-fascist campaigners. Once again there was a clear message – there is no room for hate in this city.

The far-right were in an agitative mood, stopping their march to confront the counter-protests. Several speeches were given by members of Wrexham Unite alluding to a plan of mass deportations of millions of “illegals”. This scapegoating fails to identify capitalism’s role in the exploitation of the working class. The tactic of culture war has set working class people against the wrong enemy. The class of the ruling elite are successfully pointing wrongful blame on asylum seekers to avoid attention on their own role in the degradation of conditions for millions of people.
