From Cardiff Castle to Lewis Arms Tongwynlais
On Sunday 12th July 2026, the South Wales Morning Star Readers and Supporters will take part in this year’s John Haylett Memorial Walk in the Sun to raise much needed funds for the paper. The Morning Star is a daily socialist newspaper and is owned by its readers and shareholders and not by big business or millionaires. This year’s walk, like previous years will start at Cardiff Castle, Castle Street entrance at 11.30. The group will walk along the Taff Trail to the Lewis Arms in Tongwynlais. We hope many comrades, who are able to, will make a donation and join us on the walk to celebrate the life of John Haylett, a former greatly respected Editor and Political Editor of the Morning Star, who sadly passed away in 2019. Please put the date in your diary and come enjoy a walk, raise some money and have a great time. All monies raised will go to the Morning Star Fighting Fund to help keep the paper in circulation.
