Welsh Communists smash ambitious fund-raising target for Cuba

The Executive Committee of the Communist Party launched the Cuba 26 Appeal in June this year and set Party nations and districts an ambitious target to raise £26,000, to go to the Cuba Solidarity Campaign’s Cuba Vive fund, by the 26th of July 2026. The target for Welsh branches of the Communist Party was set at £1800.00 to be raised in the two month period.

With rapid mobilisation, comrades organised a number of fund-raising events and in a short period of time they managed to smash through the target, raising £2260.00. The Communist Party in Wales played its part in the overall success of the Communist Party Cuba 26 Appeal, which in total across Britain raised £32,000.00. Well done to comrades who organised, delivered and participated in the fund-raising events.

The money will provide supplies to the Cuban people as they continue to resist US imperialism and the criminal blockade designed to starve the revolution. Welsh Communists will continue to work with local organisations in support of Cuba and centre the issue in the current political discourse.
