Welsh Communists stood firm in Mold as part of the anti-racism coalition: ‘Mold: United in Hope not Hate’ on Saturday 6th September 2025.
This coalition was formed due to a racist protest held about 35 Asylum Seekers being housed in homes in Mold. Several Welsh Communists are founding members of this anti-racism coalition, and this was the second counter demonstration in two weeks (23rd August and 6th September).
A great victory was won with the anti asylum protesters abandoning their posts after only an hour after being outsung and outchanted. Several renditions of “Mae Hen Wlad fy Nhadau”, “Yma o Hyd” and “Calon Lân” were sung to dispel the notion that these protesters were patriots.
After the event, there was a jubilant atmosphere but the acknowledgment that much more work will be needed in the future.
