STOP SCAPEGOATING!
Blaming immigrants is the oldest trick in the book. It is a form of bullying that suggests that immigrants are the cause of difficulties we are all experiencing.
IMMIGRANTS ARE NOT THE REASON THAT:
1 …there is a shortage of well paid or secure jobs.
big businesses have invested in jobs abroad or kept profits in off shore accounts rather than invest in Wales. Trade Unions, who fight for better wages, have been hampered by the anti trade union laws that all governments have endorsed
2 …there is a housing shortage
Local authorities have not been allowed to build sufficient social housing, which has artificially made housing more expensive. As people have needed extortionate mortgages to buy their homes, banks have profited and private landlords have subsequently become rich through rent hikes.
3 … we have ridiculous energy and utility bills.
That is due to multi-national companies making obscene profits at our expense.
4 …the NHS is at breaking point.
Immigrants, however, are making a massive contribution in keeping our health service going despite the government policy of underfunding it.
5 …there is violence against women.
Violence is mostly perpetrated by men. Immigrant communities are statistically no more likely to be perpetrators than the general population. One group that is more likely to perpetrate violence against women are the anti immigrant protestors in Epping.
6 …Britain keeps getting involved in military activity abroad.
Countries on the receiving end of Britain’s aggression include Yugoslavia, Syria, Iraq, Palestine, Libya and Afghanistan. War usually results in desperate people being displaced.
7 …there is a lack of unity.
Real patriots know that unity is strength because if we are to fight for better jobs, housing and public services, then we need to do so together. Those trying to divide us are the agents of the rich and powerful, whether they realise it or not.
