3rd September 2026, 6.30-8.00pm
Book Space Cardiff, 26a Crwys Road, Cardiff, CF10 3AP
The Cardiff Morning Star Readers group in collaboration with Manifesto Press and the Communist Party will organise the Cardiff launch of two publications on historical accounts of the 1926 General Strike.
The event will include:
- the launch of the Manifesto Press book “Strike” which features contemporary writings from leading figures of the 1926 General Strike and
- the launch of the Communist Party pamphlet on the history leading up and after the 1926 General Strike.
The publications will be introduced by Rob Griffiths, writer, historian and former General Secretary of the Communist Party who has studied the period and written extensively on it.
This is an essential event to understand how the 1926 general strike happened, what was its impact in Wales and how it changed working class struggle.
The event will take place at Book Space Cardiff and it overlaps with the availability of the current issue of the Communist Review, also dedicated to the 1926 General Strike.
The publications will be on sale during the event.
