Engels’ The Housing Question isn’t just history — it offers a lens to understand Wales’ housing struggles today. Join us to discuss how 19th-century critiques of capitalism still resonate with our 21st-century housing crisis.
The Morning Star supporters and readers group in Cardiff is organising an evening discussion on the 12th of November 2025, 6:00pm at the Temple of Peace. The subject of the discussion is the housing crisis in Wales, including Cardiff and it will be informed by the writings of Engels. The discussion will be led by readers with experience in housing provision in the UK and contributions are welcomed from organisation active in this area. The event is free but registration is necessary.
A collection for the paper’s Fighting Fund will take place at the end of the discussion.
This is the first of a series of discussions on various subjects that we are aiming to hold regularly in Cardiff.
